DESCRIPTION:Come swap your unwanted clothing\, meet some neighbors\, and keep more things out of the landfill at Sustainable Ballard’s Plus size clothing swap! We will be in lower Sunset Hall April 19th from 2-4pm. \nOpen House Style Swap\nbody neutral space\nFree to attend\nBring 5 items max\nLeftover clothes will go to local community efforts \nClothing Requirements: \nSize 16+\, 40+\, XL+\nAny gender clothing\nTops\, bottoms\, outwear\, and dresses accepted\nNo shoes or accessories\nGood condition\, no tears or stains \nThis is not a clothing donation site. Please bring your best items to swap with those of a similar size. \nWe need volunteers to help run the event and redistribute clothing at the end. Interested? Contact clare@sustainableballard.org \nFAQ:\nWhat is an Open House style swap?\nThere is no setup period\, and the swapping happens for the full 2 hours. Just come in whenever you are available\, drop off your items\, hangout\, and shop around. \nWhy am I limited to bringing 5 items?\nAll leftover clothing has to be redistributed to another program. Since this is a new event\, we are keeping the number small until we know our full capacity. \nIt also helps drive the intention of the swap: this is not about bringing unwanted piles of clothing\, it’s about sharing the select items with your local community. \nWhat does it mean to be a body neutral space?\nBody neutrality is about adopting a non-judgment and accepting approach to one’s body. De-emphasizing the importance of appearance\, and viewing the body as simply the tool that carries you through life. In this space\, it means refraining from comments that are a value judgement of your or other people’s body. You as you exist currently are enough.
