DESCRIPTION:The Firestone Project is a public art initiative created to reimagine the role of vacant buildings and empty lots throughout Seattle neighborhoods — and to reconsider the impact artist can have in shaping the future of our city. \n“This exhibition will bring together art\, community\, art\, and ownership to demonstrate the power that artists have to transform underutilized spaces into memorable experiences — while we’re all waiting for the next thing to happen.” (Aaron Asis) \nThe Firestone Project has invited 40+ local artists to showcase the power of creative collaboration and the ability of artists to inspire community benefits for residents\, city officials\, and local stakeholders — and inject new life into dormant landscapes throughout the city. \n“This activation is about bringing artists to the forefront — The FIrestone is about challenging the city’s idea of what public art should be\, and how murals can activate!” (Brady Black) \nPlease join us on March 14th to explore this dormant structure using art as your guide.
