We will be in lower Sunset Hall April 19th from 2-4pm. \nOpen House Style Swap\nbody neutral space\nFree to attend\nBring 5 items max\nLeftover clothes will go to local community efforts \nClothing Requirements: \nSize 16+\, 40+\, XL+\nAny gender clothing\nTops\, bottoms\, outwear\, and dresses accepted\nNo shoes or accessories\nGood condition\, no tears or stains \nThis is not a clothing donation site. Please bring your best items to swap with those of a similar size. \nWe need volunteers to help run the event and redistribute clothing at the end. Interested? Contact clare@sustainableballard.org \nFAQ:\nWhat is an Open House style swap?\nThere is no setup period\, and the swapping happens for the full 2 hours. Just come in whenever you are available\, drop off your items\, hangout\, and shop around. \nWhy am I limited to bringing 5 items?\nAll leftover clothing has to be redistributed to another program. Since this is a new event\, we are keeping the number small until we know our full capacity. \nIt also helps drive the intention of the swap: this is not about bringing unwanted piles of clothing\, it’s about sharing the select items with your local community. \nWhat does it mean to be a body neutral space?\nBody neutrality is about adopting a non-judgment and accepting approach to one’s body. De-emphasizing the importance of appearance\, and viewing the body as simply the tool that carries you through life. In this space\, it means refraining from comments that are a value judgement of your or other people’s body. You as you exist currently are enough.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual Barter Fair & Holiday Party! We’ll be returning to Old Stove Garden’s lovely event space again this year. This is a festive gathering of creative community members who make beautiful\, tasty\, useful things to barter(trade) for in an effort to showcase the power of creating and practicing sustainable gift giving. Are you a crafter\, artist\, or baker? Bring your handmade items to the barter fair. Not a crafter yourself but enjoy giving beautiful earth friendly handmade gifts? It is possible to shop with many of our barters as well.\nThe barter begins at 1:30 pm.\nWhat do you have to offer? For ease of trading\, items should be have a $5-10 or $15-20 value. Bigger items or services can be traded for multiples of the lower value items. Don’t have something to trade? Cash is also an acceptable option\, or just come by to socialize and enjoy some holiday cheer!\nSo get crafting\, creating\, and making your items to barter.\nIn past years\, barter items have included:\netched glass\, hand-crafted scarves\, knit hats and aprons\nhome-grown or foraged produce\nhome-made Julekake\, pies\, jams\, smoked salts\, granola\, walnut liquor and other delectable goodies\nseasonal candle holders\, table toppers\, swags\nservices such as pruning/garden consultations\, yoga classes\, sailboat cruises\, tool repair\, massage and more\nA $5 donation helps cover event costs.
