DESCRIPTION:In this event\, Donna Jackson Nakazawa will combine cutting-edge science\, real student voices\, and practical tools to help adults better support today’s youth.\nDonna will cover:\n– The latest research on female brain development\n– The unprecedented challenges facing teens today and why so many are in crisis\n– How these factors impact youth mental health\n– Why social stress\, in particular\, is the most damaging type of stress for kids\n– How regulating ourselves helps our kids regulate their emotions \nParticipants will gain:\n– Actionable strategies parents\, families\, and organizations can utilize to better support our youth\n– 12 science-based steps for talking with youth in neuroprotective ways and building healthier parent-child connection \nDonna will also share highlights from her national Post-It Note Project\, featuring insights from thousands of middle and high school students about what they wish their parents and other adults understood—and did—differently. \nThis event will be moderated by Christy Keating from The Heartful Parent Collective.

She’s helped thousands of parents around the world have the birds and bees talks with more confidence and ease. She also holds a certification in neurodiversity and sexuality and helps parents of neurodivergent kids—and the professionals who support them—communicate openly about sexuality and relationships.
