Art Class: Cyanotype Prints

Join us at Swoon City for Baubles and Botanicals: Exploring Cyanotypes, a one-day workshop led by local cyanotype artist Audrey Lewis. Cyanotypes are a historic photographic process that uses sunlight to create rich blue prints from objects placed directly on light-sensitive paper.
In this warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space, we’ll create our own cyanotype prints using pressed botanicals and pieces of jewelry. Though all materials will be provided you’re encouraged to bring small items from your own collection to make the experience even more personal.
Audrey will guide you step-by-step through the entire process—from prepping your paper and arranging your composition, to exposing your print in sunlight and finishing your final piece. We’ll also experiment with toning techniques using coffee and tea, transforming the classic blue into soft, earthy variations.
This workshop is all about experimentation, curiosity, and joy. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a small collection of one-of-a-kind prints and the confidence to continue exploring the cyanotype process on your own.
